| Monday, August 11th, 2003 - after the Jay's game |
| I
know, I know, I'm a slacker! It's been a couple of months since my last
entry. Time is impossible to keep up with. What a rush yesterday turned
out to be! I don't think I've ever felt so patriotic in my life! That
was definitely one of those moments I'll bank as a highlight in my existence.
I was pretty nervous, but I guess the coolest thing about standing in
the middle of the field in front of (give or take) 20,000 people, is that
you can hear everyone very clearly singing along with you! I was PUMPED!!
Close game - Jay's almost had it. Anyway, I've had a pretty great summer
so far even though the weather has decided Toronto doesn't need sunshine
this year! UGH! I like the sun. The sun is my friend. The rain is an OBNOXIOUS
bully, and I'm tired of it drowning my summer!!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Ok, I know I sound like a bit of a psycho, but after that winter I was
hoping for a little more. The C'est What show in July was a pretty big
success!! I'm not going to lie, I was pretty nervous about playing the
guitar the whole set. I'm still not at that point in my relationship with
my guitar where I can just fully relax and be myself. However, as anxious
as I was before the show, I actually had a great time at C'est What, and
it turned out really well. Kulas was amazing as usual. He's my rock! Daryl
Hogan was on bass that night, and he had a really great energy, and Paul
Brennan, who also really stepped up to the plate for a great show! I know
I'm rambling again, but I've missed a couple of months, so I'm taking
liberties. I'm reeeeeeeeeaaally excited about the El Mocambo show!!! I
had a great time at C'est What, because it was a different kind of show
for me, but I honestly love having the freedom to move around a lot more
and express myself in a more physical manner when performing. Plus, I'm
opening for Kulas, so the buzz is already pretty huge! Can't wait!!
